Mr. Bates started teaching at middle school and has been teaching at Pollard for over 20 years. He holds his BA from BIOLA University and holds his MA in Educational Leadership from the University of La Verne.

Mr. Bates has been married to his wife Irma for 25 years and have 3 young adult children, 2 of whom graduated from Lee V. Pollard. His hobbies include hiking, taking walks with his dogs, puzzles and leading at his church. 

 He strongly believes that Pollard is a great place to learn where students can all achieve great things.
