Mr. Bates has been teaching for over 20 years, most of   that time within alternative education settings. Mr.   Bates holds his BA from BIOLA University and holds   his MA in Educational Leadership from the University   of La Verne.

 Mr. Bates is the Department Chair of Social Studies at   Lee V. He believes strongly and is passionate about the   mission of Lee Pollard High School as a wonderful
 place for students to learn to love school again. 

 Mr. Bates has been married to his beautiful wife Irma   for 20 years and has three children.
